Le Championnat Mondial de Footbag de retour à Montréal

Grande nouvelle pour finir l’année en beauté: Ce 31 décembre 2012 l’association Internationale des joueurs de Footbag (IFPA) annonce que le 34ème Championnat de Footbag sera à Montréal du 27 juillet au 3 août 2013. Ce sera la 4ème fois que ce tournoi d’envergure se déroulera chez nous. Évidemment je serai aux avant postes ainsi que Pro Kicker Nous sommes fiers de pouvoir montrer notre ville aux joueurs et joueuses de calibre mondial qui viendront célébrer l’événement annuel culte des spécialistes du Aki Volley et du style libre avec nous.

Un nouveau sport à Montréal - Un premier tournoi de Peteca

Le Peteca est un jeu d’origine brésilienne. Il a été développé il y a plus de cent ans par des autochtones. Au niveau compétitif ce jeu est passablement organisé depuis cinquante ans.

Ce sera une nouvelle graine qui sera plantée le 20 août 2011. À ma connaissance ce sera le premier tournoi de Peteca à Montréal. L’événement sera microscopique, nous venons à peine de commencer à organiser des pratiques régulières de Peteca ici, soit depuis le 7 juin.

C’est gratuit pour participer et il faut s’inscrire la journée même entre 11h30 et midi.

C’est par ailleurs le volant qui apparait dans cette page qui sera le volant officiel du tournoi soit le Pro Kicker Rio Plage.

Le tournoi comme tel débutera à midi trente et se poursuivra jusqu’à ce que tous les
duels soient réglés.

C’est au Parc Lafontaine, au coeur de Montréal, derrière les tennis.

Geneviève Bousquet is number one!

Geneviève repeated: She won a second consecutive World Footbag Championships. Gen won the women’s footbag net singles Championships. Sponsored by Pro Kicker and a clothing company she dominated the category easily.

Chara knew exactly what he was doing

A little come back on the Zdeno Chara - Max Pacioretty incident, I just have one thing to say: Nobody will make me believe that Chara didn’t know what he was doing. He attempted to hurt Pax and he succeeded.

And all that because Pacioretty shove him a little bit that after he scored the winning goal in overtime over the Bruins on January 8th. During the following match (Feb 9th) when the Big Bad Bruins were back with a lot of roughness (how else could they beat the Canadiens?), Chara was constantly looking to get Max and his eyes were really crazy.

Comes the March 8th match and who Chara seriously hurt? Pacioretty of course. You believe in coincidences? Not me.

Chara is a murderer in the coming and he’s even been sanctioned by the league to continue this way. No suspension for him and Pax might never play hockey again. National Hockey Clowns League. NHCL.

Something to think about….

Washington, DC Metro Station on a cold January morning in 2007. The man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time approximately. 2 thousand people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. After 3 minutes a middle aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried to meet his schedule.

4 minutes later:

The violinist received his first dollar: a woman threw the money in the hat and, without stopping, continued to walk.

6 minutes:

A young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.

10 minutes:

A 3-year old boy stopped but his mother tugged him along hurriedly. The kid stopped to look at the violinist again, but the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. Every parent,
